During the Summer and Fall, a group of neighbors celebrated our physical and mental well-being by walking the Tacony Creek Park trail through the WeWalk PHL program.
Each week, we watched leaves change colors and listened to birds sing as we exercised on the trail together. By motivating and supporting each other, we met our personal fitness goals, all while appreciating the therapeutic aspects of walking in nature.
Before joining this group, some people were nervous to walk the Tacony Creek Park trails because they didn’t know what to expect. Now, many plan to exercise together during the winter months!
Thank you to everyone who walked during the past months! You all have made the start of this program enjoyable.
This walking group in Tacony Creek Park would not be possible without WeWalk PHL and partners: Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philly Powered, Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s Get Healthy Philly initiative, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Thank you!
We will continue our fitness walks in Spring 2019!
If you would like to be a part of our walking group this coming year or have any thoughts about the program this past year, email nagiarry@ttfwatershed.org. We would love to hear from you!
Looking forward to this Saturday walk in the park! See you soon 😊
